About
Damon is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer. He was born and raised in Albany WA, and is currently living in Perth studying a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Composition and Music Technology at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
PAST
Damon has been tutored and has played classical guitar since the age of 10. He has since then mastered contemporary guitar, drums and keyboard. Damon has considerable performance experience, having played in contemporary bands and classical ensembles, at large concerts and musical theatre productions. He has recently discovered the art of composition and music production, and is now excited to be studying this discipline at a university level.
PRESENT
Damon loves composing music for classical guitar, as well as other classical instruments. He has expanded his skill set and also enjoys producing music of many genres, including pop, hip hop, experimental, soundscape, and electronic music.
Damon loves playing contemporary music with a band, or as a solo artist with the aid of a loop and other guitar effect pedals. He loves any opportunity to perform live, whether as part of a cover band playing crowd pleasers, or at a classical concert performing solo pieces or as part of a duet, trio or ensemble.
Damon loves when his two passions combine - composing and performing. For example, a live classical guitar ensemble performance of a piece that he composed himself.
FUTURE
Damon wishes to pursue a full time career in the music industry. He plans on graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with the knowledge and skills that he needs to take it all the way. He dreams to make it to the film scoring industry, whilst working parallel to the live music industry.
